Bengaluru: an advocate who faced a defamation case submitted by IPS officers for making allegations of corruption was arrested by the Ulsoor Gate Police on Sunday.
Jagadish Kn Mahadev, a citizen of Kodigehalli, Northeast Bengaluru, was arrested on the basis of complaints submitted by Narayana Swamy, 37, on Saturday in connection with the clashes that took place in City Courts on Thursday.
According to MN Anucheth, the Deputy Commissioner of the Police (center), a case has been registered against Mahadev based on complaints submitted by Narayana Swamy and the Ulsoor Gate Police who arrested him in this case.
The police have registered cases under various parts of the IPC, including efforts to kill and riots.
Jagadish, however, claimed on social media that he would submit documents in the case of defamation before the court on Friday, but a group of people attacked him, his son and supporters.
Vivek Subba Reddy, President of the Bengaluru Advocate Association (AAB), also filed a petition against Jagadish with the police commissioner on Saturday night.
Based on complaints of associations, Commissioner Kamal Pants directed the jurisdictional police to see this problem.
