Bengaluru: BBMP failed to keep the date of Kundalahalli

Bengaluru: BBMP has skipped another deadline that has been set to complete the work at Underpass Kundalahalli, which is part of an ambitious signal-ambitious corridor along the old airport road.
Underpass is being built from February 2019 and has missed several deadlines.
In August, BBMP officials told TI that work would end in 60 days.
However, there are no signs of progress.
“Sixty days and continue to grow!” Tweeted Ananda Gundurao, marked the TOI report where BBMP made an appointment.
Ibis officials blame the property of two corners near the underpass for slowing down work.
“A commercial building in the corner blocks work.
We have to tear it in September but they take this problem to court.
So we try to overcome it,” said Lokesh, Chief Engineer, the BBMP project.
Commissioner with Mahadevapura promised to fix the problem in three days and hand over land to BBMP, he added.
“Our team is ready to finish work within 60 days.
The route transferring traffic has been prepared and sent to the department for approval.
Pre-extortion for work is also ready,” Lokesh said.
Underpass must be completed in December 2019 but works stops within a few months due to land acquisition problems.
The last time limit that was passed on the project was February 2021.
Initially, the delay was because there were 24 properties to be obtained and the owner was looking for compensation.
“We offer 1.6 times the value of the property guide but the residents do not accept it.
Then we offer them double the value of the guide and they agree, follow the work which starts,” he said.
