Bengaluru Covid-19 deaths dip to 44, lowest in 52 days

BENGALURU: Karnataka’s daily Covid-19 tally has dipped below 10,000 mark for the first time in 56 days.
The state on Tuesday reported 9,808 fresh Covid cases and the previous time the state had seen lesser cases — 8,778 —as on April 13.
Bengaluru reported 2,028 new infections.
At 179, the state’s new fatalities on Tuesday was its lowest in 44 days.
Bengaluru saw 44 deaths, a sharp drop from Monday’s 199.
The city’s toll was the lowest in 52 days after 43 deaths on April 17.
Of the 44 deaths, 26 occurred in May.
“We are reporting the deaths that have been communicated to us from hospitals and crematoria in the past 24 hours.
The number of deaths has come down as per the data,” said P Rajendra Cholan, special commissioner, BBMP.
