Bengaluru: Racketeers Sextortion Online has found their mine in dating application users.
A private company accountant officially submitted a complaint with the Central Cens Police on August 18 who alleged that a gang induced himself to strip himself online and then tried to squeeze it by threatening viral video viral.
Police suspects, there may be more people who have become prey for such a sexortion online.
According to the police, criminals posed as women in dating applications and began chatting with men.
After the initial conversation, they were spiked men to switch to video chat.
They played some videos of a girl who took off her clothes on a mobile device or computer, made the man believe it was a video directly and made the last strip.
“The criminals noted the call, in the end they lured the victims to install several applications that were not listed on Google PlayStore.
After the victim installs this application, cyber criminals can download contact details on their cellphones,” explained a police officer.
The recorded video was then used as a weapon to threaten the victims to squeeze money.
The victim of such a game plan, Sudham (Name changed), 29, a cubbonpet resident and accountant with a private company, told the police that he fell prey on an unknown online sextital gang on August 8.
He then received a message about WhatsApp containing his video where he was naked, along with the contact list.
The telephone details are illegal to be accessed by criminals.
They also sent videos to several relatives and friends.
The gang threatens the video it will be shared with all the contacts if he doesn’t pay it.
Sudham, however, did not fall in love with the Blackmailers plan and rushed to the police.
“We suspect that many victims will not advance to file complaints by fearing their reputation,” said a police officer.
The police have warned the public towards attending video calls from strangers and asked them not to install unknown cellular applications, especially those related to dating.

He will take a photocopy of their color and change the names in the fake document.
He will sell false passports / visas and collect Rs 50,000 to RS 2 Lakh from each victim.
A police team stormed his house and confiscated seals, printing machines, and laptops used to prepare forgery.
The police have not confirmed who provided the details of Nipun from the original passport and visa.
