Bengaluru: When students cry for teachers who take the transfer

Bengaluru: Emotions run high at a higher government elementary school in Lakkuru from Nelamangala Taluk in rural Bengaluru on Friday when eye-eyed children begged with their teachers, who made transfers to other institutions, to keep returning.
Teacher, despite being overwhelmed, expressed helplessness because he had to stay close to his old parents.

Venkatesh’s Principal said: “Gangamallaiah is used to care for his students at the individual level.
He used to come to school in a two-wheeled vehicle and pick up children on the road if they could not reach the institution for a reason.”

He added: “If he was on leave, he first told me to pick up the students from Madenahalli near Dobbaspete and would call to remind me so they did not miss the classroom.”

Venkatesh said: “Without telling the students, we (a staff member) gave Gangamallaiiah farewell last Wednesday.
After students learned that he was transferred to another school, they asked me to call him and told him to meet them on Friday.”
When Gangamallaiah came to visit, the children cried and asked him not to leave them.

Gangamallaiah said: “After watching my disciples and love, I am happy that I became a teacher.
Because of poverty, some brilliant children used to work with their parents to support them financially.
I used to go to their homes and Convince such parents to send their children to school.
