Bengaluru: Cybercrime Police arrested an employee of a 28-year-old private company suspected of deceiving shop-cum-business owners of Rs 49,000 using a loan application on the victim’s cellphone.
The defendant was Devinagar at Pradeep V of Vidyaranyapura.
He works as a hostel executive with an online company.
The victim filed a complaint of the police on December 21 last year said the defendant had taken a loan of Rs 40,000 by using his documents and cellphones.
Then, RS 9,000 was transferred from his account to another unknown.
“In October, the man approached me to say he worked for an online company and needed a place to store items and materials.
A shop next to my office was empty and I agreed to rent it to him.
After initial talk, he asked for my document, including Registration certificate, aadhaar and pan cards.
After taking it, he asked for my cellphone, said he would install the application where the lease could be deposited directly every month.
As I watched, he entered the details of my documents.
After this, he left he would come With other items, “the businessman told the police.
However, in December, he was surprised to receive a notification from a private financial institution that said he did not pay monthly installments on loans.
“I realized the man had snapped me.”
