Kolkata: Some of the top universities in Kolkata have reported the amount of encouraging acceptance in undergraduate courses, with some of them filling the majority of seats within 11 days after starting the receipt process.
Some school principals say they are ready for some cancellation at the next stage and maintain “plan B” ready for lower students on a serious public service list to receive entrance tickets.
Some of these colleges already have between 55% and 75% of seats filled with 19 days before the first semester class begins.
At St Xavier’s College, there are no jobs in one of the courses.
At Goenka College, almost 86% of seats are filled.
However, in several other universities, vacancies in courses such as Sanskrit, Urdu, Philosophy and Honors Bengali dragged down their aggregate performance in filling seats even though there was quick reception in other courses.
“We don’t have a single chair left in one of the courses this year.
I feel bad because so many students with very good value send us with requests to acknowledge them, but we are helpless.
