Mumbai: The best has decided to launch 100 buses as a ‘special woman’ on Saturday on occasion Bhau Beej.
The plan was suggested by the chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray who wanted to give a gift to all women on the occasion of Bhau Beej by ensuring a safe and comfortable trip for them, a senior official said.
Nearly 90 percent of this bus will be electrical and air-conditioned, while the rest will become a new non-AC CNG bus, said the source.
Lokesh Chandra’s best general manager said that 100 buses will operate on 70 routes from 27 bus depots throughout the city in the morning and curfews.
“We have chosen the route where a busy bus and a special bus will come as a relief for visitors to office and other women who are waiting in a long bus queue during rush hour,” he said.
The total exclusive buses of women will now go up 137, with a fleet already have 37 women’s special buses.
“In the future, on demand, we will increase the number of trips or routes for women’s special buses,” Chandra added.
