Better care in KgMu with infrastructure encouragement

Lucknow: In a big boost to patient care facilities, the medical university of King George (KGMU) will be equipped with new infrastructure and medical facilities for the next four months.
This will include the supply of oxygen pipes to all beds, a new 15-bed pediatric intensive care unit and the installation of pet scanning machines.
“These projects will significantly improve patient care services provided by various hospitals under the kgmu,” said Kgmu Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen (RET) Dr.
Bipin Puri while sharing the university’s future plans on health care and medical education with reporters On the day of reporter.

“The 20,000-liter liquid oxygen plant and a 1,000-liter oxygen plant plant will be functional at the Queen Mary Hospital next month.
Similarly, the 1,000-liter oxygen plant plant will start working in the center of trauma,” he said.
With the completion of these three factories, all 4,500 beds in various university departments and hospitals will be closed by 24×7 pipe oxygen supply, he added.
At present, KGMU has two CT scan machines.
Other machines will be added next month to reduce the patient’s waiting period.
Pediatric ICU is ready and will be inaugurated next month, said Deputy Kongan & Kg.
“An important pet scanning machine for cancer treatment will be set within four months.
The funds have been approved by the government and the procurement process will begin soon,” he said.
This will be the first kgmu pet scanning machine.
At present, patients in KgMu are referred to SGPGIMS and RMLim for PET scanning tests.
Robot surgery in the coming years: In the coming years, KGMU will begin robot operations and form a sophisticated 4-level laboratory for research in virology, bacteriology, drug manufacturing.
In addition, new infectious disease hospitals (IDH) will be arranged.
“The land for establishing a lab has been identified and talks ongoing with three manufacturing companies for robot operations.
Search for sites that are suitable for IDH are being carried out,” VC said.
Doctor recipe audit: KgMu will be a committee to conduct a recipe audit given to patients by a doctor.
Steps have been taken to make sure the doctor only prescribes the name of the generic drug instead of the branded, KGMU VC said.
Pharmacological audits will also be carried out to identify side effects of various drugs prescribed in hospitals and side effects will be reported to the authorities.
