Bengaluru: Minister of Water Resources Govind Karjol on Wednesday told the legislative council that the union government would almost certainly declare the Lift Irrigation Project Bhadra above as a national project.
“With regard to the upper Bhadra project, not even months but in a few days, we will see the Union cabinet issued our request to declare it as a national project,” Minister said.

Previously, Karjol defended the BJP government in connection with the problem of allocating funds to the upper Krishna project and increased the height of the Almatti dam to 524 meters from the present.
