Nagpur: Nagpur bench from the Bombay High Court has provided a temporary pre-capture guarantee to two nurses accused of cases of Bhandara Government Hospital fires.
The destructive fire at the hospital in Bhandara claimed the life of the ten new births on January 9, 2021.
Shubhangi Sathawa and Sunita Masulkar, two nurses staff on duty at the time of the incident, were accused of negligence.
They first moved court sessions for anticipatory guarantees.
After their request was rejected, they approached the High Court.
The high court on Tuesday issued a notification to the state government and the police sought their response, and provided protection from the arrest to applicants to the next hearing this month.
Judge Vinay Joshi said in terms of arrest, applicants must be released in temporary guarantees on the personal bond of each RS25,000, with one guarantee in the like.
The defendant would not damage the evidence and will attend the police station concerned every Sunday and Wednesday until the order further, said the court.
