Colombo: Sri Lanka’s dough Bhukuka Rajapaksa on Wednesday announced his retirement from international cricket with direct effects, citing family obligations.
Odi’s career Rajapaksa lasts less than six months when the 30-year-old left hander has made his debut on July 2021.
He submitted a letter of resignation to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), who posted the development on his website.
“I have carefully considered my position as a player, husband and I made this decision waiting for my father and respecting family obligations,” Rajapaksa wrote in his resignation letter.
Rajapaksa represented Sri Lanka in five ODIS and 18 T20IS, scored a total runs 409 throughout the format that included three years and fifties.
He was part of the T20 World Cup troops Sri Lanka and finished as the third top scorer for his team with 155 runs from eight matches.
