Hyderabad: Bharat Biotech, along with the Vietnam Dunc Minh partner, contributed 2 doses of lakh from Covaxin Covid-19 vaccine which is originally developed to Vietnam.
The announcement was made by the Director of Bharat Biotech Suchitra Ella on Thursday after the meeting with Vuong Dinh Hue, the President of the National Assembly of the Vietnam Socialist Republic, in New Delhi.
Bharat Biotech was invited by the Vietnamese embassy for one-on-one meeting with the President of the National Assembly to discuss the cooperation, inventory, and the possibility of technology transfer.
Covaxin, who received an emergency use listing (EUL) from the World Health Organization (WHO) on November 3 this year, has also been approved by Vietnam.
Duc Minh is Bharat Biotech partner in Vietnam.
Bharat Biotech has worked with Duc Minh Medical JSC for commercialization of rabies vaccines that are not active.
“We believe in vaccine equity, global public health, and have access to vaccines is very important for national health.
I hope that everyone in the Vietnam Republic will utilize having access to Covaxin which is managed widely, safely and efficacious,” said Krishna Ella, Chairperson and implementing director, Bharat Biotech.
