Pune: Storage of live water in three dams in Bhima Basin has reached a sign of half of their respective capacities.
According to the latest report issued by the State Irrigation Department, Stock in Andra Dam is at 70 percent of its capacity, while storage in crude and Kalmodi increased to 64 percent and 54 percent of their respective storage capacity.
Officials in the irrigation department said that storage in other dams was on a stable increase.
Stock water in five dams is near the middle sign.
Stock in two dams – Ujani and Pimpalgaon Joge — Under zero percent of life shares, which means water from dead shares is being used from this dam, officials said.
Storage Ujani is at minus 4 percent while stock in Pimpalgaon Joge is at minus 50 percent.
The official said that stock in both dams would rise with the flow of rain after a good rain spell.
“We have monitored the water content in both dams.
Stock in Ujani has increased and the possibility of a dam will receive water storage in the next few days.
Ujani Dam has received rainfall of more than 230mm while Pimpalgaon Joge has recorded 350 mm rain,” officials said ,
