Times News Network Varanasi: Scientists at the University of Banaras Hindu claim to have described the relationship between diabetes mellitus and SARS-COV-2 infection through differential targeting in human pancreas.
Associate Professor Bioinformatika in Mahila Mahavidyalaya of Bhu, Dr.
Rajeev Mishra and his team from Bhavya undergraduate research and former researcher Dr.
Ekta Pathak investigated the relationship between diabetes and sars-cov-2 infection.
This finding was published in the ‘Journal of Endocrinological Investigation’, a famous Springer-Nature.
According to Dr.
Mishra, the correlation has been found between diabetes and SARS-Co-V-2 infection as part of this study.
Researchers led by him have examined RNA from the pancreas single cell infection infected with the SARS-COV-2 virus.
“There are some evidence showing that useful artificial microrna can be made and injected into infected cells so that they bind and inhibit the function of viral genomes and targeting micro cell differential cells, as shown in our research,” he said.
The SARS-COV-2 virus infection has been found in various human organs, including the pancreas, and Covid-19 patients with diabetes have the highest death rate, he added.
According to him, Covid-19 patients who were hospitalized showed the highest mortality with diabetes as a comorbidity.
“In this work, we have investigated the role of Microrna Pancreas Human in connecting diabetes to Covid-19.
We have noted that in the infected, 26 and 4-COV-2 pancreatic pancreas networks are set and arranged down.
Among them , We have found that the four up-regulated genes are associated with type 1 diabetes while two up-regulated genes are associated with the term “insulin”, he said.
