Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday decided to establish 14 other material recovery facilities in the capital city to process dry solid waste.
At present four facilities such as those operations and six construction are ongoing.
These facilities were established to stop transportation of garbage remains to the dumping page in Daruthenga gradually.
Facilities are being founded near the micro compost center, where wet waste is reduced to compost.
The BMC source said from 24 material recovery facilities, 10 will appear in the northern zone and seven each will be built in the southwest and southeast zone.
Each factory will have destroyers, napkin incinerators and large weighing machines.
It has been decided that sanitation workers, which have been chosen from the picker, will be involved in the separation of waste in plants.
They will separate plastic, metal, cardboard and paper from waste.
“After segregation, waste will be processed and sent to recyclers, which has been authorized by BMC,” said Suvendu Sahu, DY Commissioner (sanitation).
