Bhubaneswar: The commissional police have assigned Nodal officers the task of conducting routine interactions with residents of slums and gathering intelligence on criminals living in the area to increase the police.
In the first phase, leg patrolles will be intensified in 11 slums identified.
“We have just launched Basti Ku Chala or the police in the slums.
Bringing to the next level, we have assigned Nodal officers for every slum.
Eleven slums have been taken for outreach programs,” said Deputy Commissioner of the Police of Shankar Dash.
This step came a week after a group of violence groups between two anti-social gangs in slums under the boundaries of Mancheswar police.
“During our analysis, we found that 90% of property-related violations have relations with slums.
Allegations have taken refuge in slums after committing a violation Patrol bicycles and legs, hold regular interactions with residents of slums and oversee the movements of suspicious people, “Dash said.
