Bhubaneswar: Minister of Ashwini Vaishnaw Railway and Education Minister Union Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday marked the new LHB Rake from Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar (08445/08446) Hirakhand Express through video conferencing from New Delhi.
During his recent visit to Odisha, Vaishnaw had traveled with passengers in Hirakhand Express.
“I have received feedback from passengers about train services.
After this, we have introduced a new modern LHB Rakes in Hirakhand Express to provide a better and more fun travel experience to train passengers,” he added.
He said coach Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) on the express train would provide better comfort and jerk-free travel for passengers and that coach focuses on safety.
Hirakhand Express includes a trip of 784 km from Bhubaneswar to Jagdalpur has a termination at 21 intermediary stations in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
The train has 12 trainers and can accommodate 850 passengers.
Previously, had 740 seats in conventional coaches.
With the introduction of modern LHB coaches, 10-12 percent more passengers can travel on the train starting now and so on.
The LHB coach was first introduced at the East Coast Railway (ECOR) in 2013.
Now it has 257 LHB trainers covering 39 important mail / express trains.
Ecor has set a target to change the entire 2,100 conventional coach to become LHB coach in the near future, the official source said.
Among other things, the Minister of Science and Technology State Ashok Chandra Panda, Coraput MP Saptagiri Sankar Ullaka, Mlaas Suresh Kumar Routray, Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Ananta Narayan Jena, Susant Kumar Rout and Makarda Muduli attended the ceremony at the Bhubaneswar train station.
