Bhubaneswar: Police Bharatpur here on Monday thwarted the deception of hospital employees claiming financial assistance from the Minister of Public Chief (CMRF) to the treatment of several patients and arrest him for allegedly trying to deceive the government.
The defendant was identified as Dilip Kumar Behera (38), a assistant manager of the medical recording department of a private hospital.
The police said Behera had sent three applications to the government to release around Rs 5.5 lakh from CMRF to treatment of three poor patients.
During routine verification, the Ministry of Health recognized the documents submitted by Behera forged.
Assistant Kumar Majhi, an assistant officer (ASO) from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, filed a complaint to the Bharatpur police on August 24 against Behera.
In accordance with the complaint, Behera has sent the names of three patients-Rabindra Kumar Barad, Parvati Sahoo and Dama Muduli, who are undergoing treatment at a private hospital, to consider under the CMRF.
“The Department of Health and Family Welfare has received applications, hospital bills and other supporting documents from three patients.

When they contacted the hospital, it was confirmed that Behera conspired by several colleagues.
