Bhubaneswar: Lingaraj Temple is likely to be reopened from August 23

Bhubaneswar: Lingaraj Temple and other religious institutions in the city tend to be reopened since August 23.
Representatives of the institution expressed the nationality on Saturday at a meeting with officials of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Since May 5, the institution remains out of bounds for worshipers after the second wave crashes into a country that forces the government to impose locking again.
On Saturday, despite the body of the Imam Lingaraj, representatives of the Mosque, Church, Gurudwaras and Jain Joint Help with Commissioner of BMC Sanjay Kumar Singh and other officials from the Civic body.
“The meeting was intended to request a religious opinion of religious institutions.
It was an open discussion.
It was all round about the reopening of the institution on August 23,” Singh told Toi.
The meeting was held in the background of the government giving a nod to reopen religious institutions in August.
BMC can produce standard operating procedures (SOP) to be followed by places of worship.
The executive officer of the Lingaraj Temple Prasnana Dash said in the next stage, the Temple Trust Board would be involved in making a final decision on the reopening of the temple.
After the first wave, the Lingaraj temple was reopened for the first time for Bhubaneswar people in January this year.
People are asked to produce evidence of residents such as the Aadhaar card or voter ID Bhubaneswar.
They also underwent covid testing.
However, from January 6, BMC allows all the people to visit the temple.
After four months, it must be closed.
During the Shivratri in March, the Administration of Khurda Regency on Wednesday allows worshipers on lightest screwl lights, but no more than 500 worshipers are permitted to enter the temple.
Outside the temple, however, there is no capping before the number of worshipers.
