Bhubaneswar: A man dressed like a woman who was allegedly went bankrupt to his neighbor’s house, a retired professor, and stabbed his wife and daughter and daughter in the residential area Sailashree Vihar upstairs here on Monday.
The victims, aged 68 and 27, who were critically injured in the attack, were undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The police identified the attacker as Rupesh Panda, 35, a visual editor with regional news channels in the city.
Even though it was injured critically, the victims against Panda, beat him and even managed to call the neighbors who came to save them, police said.
The police detained Panda, wore Salwar Kameez, from the crime scene.
Panda was also injured during the upheaval with the mother-child duo and rushed to the capital hospital.
“We tried to find out the panda motif behind the attack and why he entered his neighbor’s house wore women’s clothes.

The wife and family member of Panda said he did not have mental illness.
“The police must investigate this problem well,” he added.
