Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation flooded the request to eliminate construction waste

Bhubaneswar: Following continuous enforcement and awareness activities, many capital residents have begun to implement online to find permits for Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to accilten the construction and disassembly (C & D) waste.
On the first day one of the drives began in September, the Civic body raised 41 waste trucks, which were used to remain stacked on the roadside and blocked the flow of normal traffic.
The source says according to the rules, a person must apply to BMC to maintain the waste in a certain place.
The environmental officer concerned will then assess the quantity of waste and decide the cost to be collected.
“From September to November, we have collected more than Rs 8 Lakh as a fine of violators.
Drive awareness makes people aware of filing debris,” said a BMC officer.
Although C & D waste management rules come in 2016, they are not strictly enforced.
The rules are partly enforced in the capital only with BMC launching several drives to seize waste and good people.
The Civic body even applied fines in the state government and the Central Government Department to pile up the waste.
