Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation: Unit-IV market is closed without limits

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday sealed the unit-iv market and unlimited meat market after the market was found open and crowded during the weekend shutdown.
“Given the mass violations of the appropriate Covid behavior detected by BMC enforcement forces in the non-vegan market unit-IV (retail and wholesale) during the shutdown, the market will remain closed until the order further,” said BMC order.
The additional commissioner of BMC Laxmikanta Sethi said to contain the spread of Covid, the weekend shutdown has been stored in mode, but unit-IV vendors do not hold on to the limit.
This is for the benefit of city residents who were turned off at the time.
If people break it, they will face actions, he said.
The non-VEG unit-IV market has faced the closure twice during the first wave of pandemic.
Then, the vegetable market was decentralized massively with all vendors asked to install their seller’s kiosk along the road designated by BMC.
In the second wave, after the cluster spread the virus appearing ahead, BMC re-decentralized the vegetable market.
With capital showing no signs of increasing in terms of decreasing the case of Daily Covid, City Authority has decided to intensify law enforcement activities.
With some lifted sidewalks and curfew curfew extended until 8 pm, the capital now witnessed vehicle traffic until late at night.
The capital has reported more than 300 cases for a little more than a month forcing city authorities to take tight steps.
In the first wave, BMC shifted more than 40 small and large markets to roadside and open space to ensure social distance.
However, this time, the market was shifted very late.
Some decentralized markets have been transferred to their original places
