Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to write to the government and private offices to make an e-waste inventory so that it removes them in the running drive by BMC every Saturday.
The civil body has been within four Saturdays collecting 100 quintals from e-waste from households.
Swachh Sathhy left the door to the door to receive e-waste from the residential area.
After collecting waste, they were taken to the Material Recovery Facility (MRF), founded near Sainik School.
The official agency returned by the State Pollution Control Board will take waste recycling.
“We are driving every Saturday for a collection of household e-waste.
But the office has most of the waste like that.
We will write to them to prepare inventory, which can be shared with us so we know the status of e-waste buildup in the office.
Thus, we will plan collection and disposal, “said Deputy Commissioner BMC (Sanitation) SUVENDU Sahu.
In 2018, BMC has launched the Bhubaneswar e-free-free program.
But now, based on fresh guidance issued by housing and the Urban Development Department (H & UD), the collection and disposal of e-waste has been taken.
Smart city is at home for several offices and institutions, always remains a challenge to throw out most of the e-waste.
