Bhubaneswar: Portal Closure Block Birth Emission, Death Certificate

Bhubaneswar: With the remaining e-municipality portal (ulbodisha.gov.in) is suspended for more than a week now, people face difficulties in applying and obtaining death and birth certificates.
These important documents are needed for all official goals, including the appointment of legal heirs, claiming insurance, during school and school receipts, to claim benefits, foreign trips, applying for passports and so on.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is a publisher agent for the capital city.
It downloads the application received on the portal and health workers concerned for each city to put their signatures on this before uploading the same in digital format.
People have complained that they cannot apply for a certificate or can download signed.
Every time they go to the web portal, it says active maintenance work.
Because online mode is the only way for people to apply and get a certificate, many have to cancel the works urging them with the absence of services.
Hundreds of applications are waiting.
“I have tried applying for my brother’s death certificate, who died because Covid recently.
But every time I access it, the message appears showing active maintenance work.
I see no logic behind maintaining such important services as long as it is suspended,” said Pritam Biswal, residents of Bhubaneswar, said.
Portal Ulbodisha.gov.in is intended for all civil bodies and people living in areas throughout the country can apply for death and birth certificate here.
“The web portal is managed by a private company and is in maintenance now.
But it will be ready soon,” said City Health Officer (BMC) B said Mishra.
