Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday issued a guideline for the Puja Durga celebration in the city between October 11 to October 15.
Public participation will not be permitted in the celebration of Puja Durga in this city.
Despite the public protest over idol height, BMC has clear instructions that the idol size must be less than four feet.
The public address system will not be used during puja or other time that day, the BMC guide said.
The committee or committee can do puja in the mandap by adopting all covid norms such as social distance, wearing masks and sanitation.
For this, they need to take permission from the officers authorized by the police commissioner.
“Puja will be carried out in conditions such as indoor only for ritual obedience without public participation, the splendor of POMP,” said Civic body guidelines.
Furthermore, it states that the mandap must be covered on three sides and one side is only opened for the entry of the priest for the ritual.
Even the fourth side must be properly covered so that the public cannot see idols, BMC said.
At any time, more than seven people, including the priests / organizers / kartas / support staff, will not be permitted for puja mandap.
People who will continue to attend the mandap need to follow the appropriate behavior of Covid.
People who are fully vaccinated will be permitted for compliance with puja.
The civic body is clearly mentioned in the guidelines that the organizers cannot hold this soaking procession this time.
BMC has created an artificial pool in which idol will settle.
A maximum of 10 people must be involved in the soaking process because the size and weight of the idol has been limited this time, the guidelines said.
People who are fully vaccinated can take part in the soaking process and they must adhere to the appropriate behavior to do rituals for immersion.
Any any religious procession or music or entertainment program with the Public / Group / Puja Committee will not be permitted during the Puja period.
“The Puja Committee must notify their members to keep all individual covid vaccination / certificates / certificates that are useful for inspection of enforcement agencies,” BMC guidelines said.
