Bhubaneswar: The state government will come with Adarsha Vidyalaya icon in the capital city with an estimated cost of Rs 100 Crore.
Minister of Education and Mass Samir Ranjan Dash said this is here on Friday.
Dash said the school would be built on 25 hectares of land in Andharua on the outskirts of the city.
The Foundation Stone will be placed for this project on the occasion of Teacher’s Day on Sunday.

The strength of the school students will be 1000 (500 in each class).
500 first students in class XI and they will be promoted to class XII, “said Minister.
He said there were 314 Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) in the state.
“We will choose the best students from OAV after examination of class X and admit it to the iconic model school in Bhubaneswar.
In addition to learning, students will get various types of coaching facilities to solve national level tests,” he added.
Dash said the state government will bear the cost of accommodation and food and make arrangements for all facilities related to study and coaching.
Adarsha Vidyalaya, co-ed school, was established at block headquarters in all 314 state blocks at the secondary and medium level of class VI to XII.
It promotes spreading modern education in the remote parts of Odisha while integrating small towns and villages with mainstream education, official source said.
It began as a ‘school model’, launched by the center under the central aid scheme in 2010-2011.
But it was hidden from the scheme from the 2015-16 financial year.
Then the state government took it forward with additional features.
Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Tekalhan (OAV) was established on September 19, 2015, as a community, while maintaining 314 of this school, the school said and the source of the Mass Education Department.
