Patel, 59, rose several top party leaders from the main minister races.
He will now lead the Bharatiya Party Janata into the crucial assembly poll scheduled for December 202.
The minister of the house of Union Amit Shah is among other leaders who attended the ceremony.
Head of the State Minister for BJP – Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Goa CM Pramod Sawant was present at the ceremony.
