Bhupesh Baghel meets Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, discussing the strategy for polling 2022

New Delhi: Chief of Chhattisgarh Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday met all Indian Congress Committee (AICC) Uttar Pradesh Incharge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the national capital and discussed the strategy for the upcoming assembly selection.
Baghel has been given the responsibility of the party’s senior observer for the election of Uttar Pradesh.
He has been given the task of coordinating with party selection organizations and machines.
Baghel visited Uttar Pradesh four times in the past month and discussed demonstrations in Gorakhpur and Varanasi together with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Minister Chhattisgarh also visited Lakhimpur Kheri, where eight people, including four farmers, were killed during farmer protests.
Lakhimpur Kheri has witnessed Slugfest politics after violence.
In the past, the Congress had tried to make an initial election announcement among people through ‘pratiga yatras’ from various regions.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaigned aggressively in the state against the state government led by BJP.
He has made several announcements including a 40 percent ticket for women in the assembly poll.
The Secretary General of the Congress also remained open for alliances with small parties.
Many leaders feel that if voters who are annoyed with BJP are divided into many political parties, the party will suffer.
In such a situation, it will be right to oppose the election in the alliance with several local political parties, they feel.
At the same time, several leaders supported their own election.
Congress last played elections in the Alliance with the Sawajwadi Party, where they had to face defeat.
Bhupesh Baghel will also meet with the Interim president of Sonia Gandhi’s Congress at night.
Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to go to conduct a assembly poll in 2022.
Previously, in the 2017 assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata’s party bagged 312 seats from the 403 seat of the Uttar Pradesh Majelis while the Samajwadi Party (SP) bagged 47 seats, Bahujan Jamjwadi Party ( BSP) won 19 and Congress could win only seven seats.
The rest of the chair was bagged by another candidate.
In particular, the Congress Party has been less powerful in the state since 1989, namely, for more than 30 years.
The chairman of the last Minister of Uttar Pradesh representing the Congress Party was Narayan Dutt Tiwari from June 1988 to December 1989.
