Bhutan has begun to provide Covid Booster’s shots to senior citizens and priority groups when Himalaya Kingdom tries to prevent Omicron variants, the Ministry of Health officials said on Friday.
Travelers aged 65 and older, overseas, health workers, sufferers of chronic diseases and all adults living in the “high-risk” field meet the requirements, officials said.
“Bhutan becomes the first country in the South Asia region to manage a booster dose,” BBS said BBS public service.
Officials said Bhutan planned to invest more than 2,28,000 people in a week.
“As we did for the second dose, the mix and compatibility was recommended even for a booster, given the higher efficacy,” said an official.
Bhutan hasn’t reported any Omicron case so far.
The nation of around 7.50,000 said it was vaccinated more than 93% of people older than 12 with the second dose.
It has reported only three deaths related to Covid and 2,659 cases since the pandemic began
