Gurgaon: A 34-year-old engineer who returned home from the work died after his bicycle fell to a stationary truck at Vatika Flyover in Gurgaon.
The truck broke down on the flyover and the driver allegedly left him without supervision in the middle of the road without indicators or caution barricades around.
The accident occurred on Thursday when Sanjay Kumar was on his way home in the Park Rajender Gurgaon area from his office in Dhipherber at around 9pm.
Sanjay did not see the truck in the dark and crashed it from behind, according to her sister, satish who followed her from the Manual bus standing on other two-wheeled vehicles.
Sanjay rushed to Medanta but gave up on her head injury during treatment.
Satish said the accident occurred because of the negligence of the truck driver.
“The truck may have developed several obstacles, but the driver should be able to light all the indicators and place the caution barricade around or warn the police to avoid accidents like that at night,” he said.
The police said they received information about the accident and the next entrance ticket from the victim to the hospital.
“A team rushed to the hospital and found that the victim died during treatment,” said a police officer from the Kherki Daula police station.
After complaints by the victim’s brother, a case was registered under the 304A part of the IPC (causing death from negligence) at the Kherki Daula police station.
“The probe is on,” said Police spokesman Gurgaon Subhash Benek.
