WASHINGTON: Biden Administration has suspended all weapons sales to the Afghan government after the Taliban country takeover.
In notifications for defense contractors posted on Wednesday, the Department of Foreign Political / Military Affairs Bureau said the transfer of weapons delayed or not sent to Afghanistan had been reviewed.
“Given the rapidly growing situation in Afghanistan, the Directorate of Control Sales Defense reviews all expensive export licenses are delayed and issued and other approval to determine their suitability in world peace, national security and US foreign policy,” he said.
The notification said it would issue updates for defense equipment exporter in the coming days.
