Jerusalem: The United States and Israel are on “critical points” on various security issues and must develop a shared strategy, national security adviser U.S.
Jake Sullivan told Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett during Jerusalem’s visit on Wednesday.
The Bennett office, which issued a video meeting, said in a statement that both of them discussed Iranian efforts and World Powers to renew the 2015 nuclear agreement.
“What happens in Vienna has great consequences for Middle Eastern stability and Israeli security for the coming years,” Bennett said to Sullivan, referring to the negotiation site with Iran this month.
Israel is not a party for the conversation.
It has long signaled that, should it make diplomacy of deadlocks, can use military power to prevent Iran from getting the means to make a bomb.
Iran denies seeking nuclear weapons.
Sullivan said he had been sent to Israel by President Joe Biden “because at critical points for our two countries in a series of major security issues, it is important that we sit together and develop the same strategy, general view”.
The highest Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth carried out an interview with the head of the country’s air force in which he was asked whether the corps was ready to attack Iran “tomorrow”, if needed.
“Yes,” replied the Tomer Bar major.
