WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden asked the country and area to offer residents who were not vaccinated $ 100 to get their Covid-19 shots.
The cash prize for vaccination is one of the ideas in the latest Biden plan to increase the level of vaccination lagging behind in many parts of the nation.
Launched on Thursday, the essence of his new plan is a requirement for federal workers to reveal their vaccination status to their agents.
Biden refers to the anecdotal evidence that the $ 100 prize will get results.
The White House said the Kroger grocery store chain tried it and saw the level of vaccination soaring to 75% of 50% among employees.
New Mexico, Ohio, and Colorado have also experimented with that idea.
Biden said the state and location could use money from the Covid Help law to pay for incentive programs.
