WASHINGTON: United States President Joe Biden and France’s colleague Emmanuel Macron on Friday discussed security cooperation in Africa, Europe and the Indo Pacific, because the two countries worked to repair the fence after the Kingdom with England and Australia.
Biden and Macron planned to continue their discussion when they met this month in Rome at the top of the leaders of the major economic group 20, the White House said.
Vice President Kamala Harris will also meet Macron during a visit to Paris in November, the White House said, underlining efforts to improve the bonds between the United States and France after Australia canceled the French submarine contract that supports Washington and London Moon.
The visit followed the trip by US Secretary Antony Blinken to Paris earlier this month, where he said that he had a conversation “very positive, very productive” with French leaders.
US Trade Representative Katherine Tai also met with her French colleagues, Franck Riester, on Friday, on the sidelines of Heaven of the seven Conference of the Minister of Trade, where he emphasized US commitment to “strengthen bilateral relations with France”, his office said in a statement.
In his call with Macron, Biden reviewed sustainable efforts by both countries to support stability and security in the Sahel region and to increase cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, as well as efforts to enable stronger European defense, the White House said.
“President Biden looked forward to a meeting with President Macron in Rome later this month, where they will continue the conversation, take stock from many fields of cooperation in France, and strengthen joint interests and our general values ​​with challenges and opportunities together,” he said .
Harris will meet Macron while in Paris to give a speech at the fourth annual Paris Paris Forum on November 11 and participate in the Paris Conference in Libya on November 12, Symone Sanders spokesman said in a statement.
