WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden has nominated Mark Brzezinski, a diplomat era Obama with a deep bond to Poland, to serve as dubsador to Warsaw.
If confirmed, Brzezinski will be sent to the Poland when a group of central and eastern parts of the United States is close to the Biden government approach to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Biden government announced last month that it had reached an agreement with Germany which would allow the settlement of Russian Nord pipes 2 gas pipes to Europe without further imposition of US sanctions.
The project allows Moscow to bypass Ukraine, Poland and other countries in Eastern and Central Europe that collect transit costs on energy.
Brzezinski served in the government of Barack Obama as the first executive director of the White House Arctic Steering Committee and as US Ambassador to Sweden.
He also served on the White House National Security Council during the reign of Bill Clinton, first as Director of Russia and Eurasia and later as Balkan Director.
Brzezinski spends time in Poland as a Fulbright scholar and is the author of “the struggle of constitutionalism in Poland.” Brzezinski is Zbigniew Brzezinski’s son, who served as a national security advisor under President Jimmy Carter.
His sister, Mika Brzezinski, is a number of “morning Joe Morning” MSNBC.
Zbigniew Brzezinski was born in Warsaw, speaks Polish and famous and respected in Poland.
The White House also announced that Biden nominated four career foreign service officials for the role of Ambassador: Elizabeth Fitzsimmons to Togo, Rebecca Gonzales to Lesotho, Brian Shukan to Benin and David Young to Malawi.
