New Delhi: The White House on Friday said that US President Joe Biden has nominated the Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti to become US Ambassador to India.
Eric M Garcetti has become the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles since 2013, after 12 years as a member of the city council, including six as president of the council.
Garcetti is the C40 City chair at this time – the largest 97 city network in the world that takes a brave climate action.
Previously, he had led the involvement and expansion of organizations in India as well as the C40 global response to Covid pandemics through the best practice and resource sharing.
For 12 years as intelligence officers in the US Navy reserve component, Garcetti served under the commander, the US Pacific Fleet and Defense Intelligence Agency, retirement in 2017 as Lieutenant, the White House said in a statement.
