WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden spoke with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Thursday and thanked him for the close coordination of Afghanistan and confirmed the plan for the upcoming Quad leader summit.

Together they celebrate the 70th anniversary of the US Alliance with Australia,” the White House reading said.
This call comes in the background of the Taliban Afghanistan takeover and democratically elected government.
The US has taken nearly 24,000 Afghans as part of the evacuation from Afghanistan.
In total, 124,000 people were taken to the US or to third countries from Afghanistan before the settlement of the troops on August 30.
In addition, Afghanistan, Biden and Morrison confirmed the plan for the leadership of this direct quad leader.
Previously, the Biden government had proposed a “Quad” meeting directly with Indian leaders, Japan and Australia at the end of September.
This meeting will mark unity among the four Indo-Pacific democracies amid Chinese firmness, President Biden tried to build a “position of strength” to be directly involved with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
This meeting is scheduled to occur after the General Assembly General Debate, which will be held in September in New York City.
