WASHINGTON: Biden government is reviewing how to get money to the Florida school district if the Governor of State, Ron Desantis, makes goodness in the threat to hold the payment of school leaders who need masks for students.
Most of the Florida schools reopen this week with full capacity.
Desantis, a republican, has warned the country to raise financial penalties to districts that mandate masks, the latest in a series of actions aimed at holding His Laissez-Faire credentials.
But many school officials and public health experts say the mask is needed to protect students and teachers, and President Joe Biden has clashed with desantis about this issue.
Secretary of the White Press Building Jen PSaki told reporters on Tuesday that the government was seeing whether it could use Covid-19 assistance funds that were unused to fight every salary deduction applied by Desantis.
“We continue to see what our choice is to help protect and help support these teachers and administrators who take steps to protect people in their community,” PSAKI said.
Desantis office did not immediately respond to a comment request.
The Republican Rising Star is closely related to former President Donald Trump and has become a national figure to oppose pandemic restrictions, even when Florida has become a nest of infection and hospitalization has reached a record level.
He is widely seen as weighing potential 2024 challenges for the presidency.
Last week, Biden asked the Republican Governor like Desantis to “get out of the way” efforts to contain viruses.
