Washington: US President Joe Biden and his wife on Thursday visiting Maryland Hospital treats injured troops in Afghanistan, four days after the US military completed the withdrawal from the country.
“Tonight, the first president and woman visited the Warriored Warriors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center,” The White House said.
Biden spent a little under two hours in the hospital, but there was no further details provided by administration on visits, including whether the President met with service members.
Military Hospital, located on the northwestern suburb of Washington, among others, a dozen US services were injured in August 26 attacks at Kabul airport during the evacuation of foreign and afghan personnel reported.
On Sunday, Biden and his wife Jill paid tribute to 13 members of the US service killed in the attack, because the remains they returned to the United States in the Dover Air Force base in Delaware.
