Letter: With the selection campaign material made of textiles take a hit due to the emergence of social media, good old saree helps city traders cover losses.
When the battle of polls was heated in Uttar Pradesh, Sarees – conceptualized and produced in letters – high demand in the state.
Sarees are distributed as free during the campaign.
Also, fashion exhibitions have been held to display sarees.
Ancient clothes have given traders with new roads as requests for hats, flags, fesinons, banners and other items made of textiles have fallen for years.
“I sold around 30,000 sarees up.
There are several designs available.
More than 1 lakh saree is sent to the top by textile traders who are different from letters and more will be sent before the vote ends,” said Lalit Sharma, a textile trader from the city .
“Initially, I had ordered several sarees and soon sold.
Then, I put more orders to make the most of the first phase of the voting,” Ashok Agarwal said, a textile trader in Agra.
The display of various Saree designs is also held in Mathura.
Sarees has the slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief of Yogi Adityanath.
Also, there is a sare with a slogan ‘Jo Ram Ko Laye, Hum UNKO Daydenge’ (those who have brought RAM RAM, we will bring it).
Initially, the city traders produced Saree which was printed digitally to check their requests.
After a positive response, sarees are printed like other textile products to reduce the cost because digital printing is an expensive process, traders get information.
“Sarees that we sell have a price range of Rs 250 to Rs 300 per piece.
I provide saree in the area around Agra and Mathura,” Agarwal added.
