Patna: More than one Elementary Lakh teacher who provides their services in various state schools over the past few years can lose their jobs immediately because of their failure in sending original documents for verification.
Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said all the teachers appointed by Pancayati Raj Institutions or urban bodies between 2006 and 2015 were asked in June last year to upload their original certificates and the list of achievements to the Portal Ministry of Education for the purpose.
However, more than one lakh teacher like it cannot upload their documents even though repeated reminders of the department, he said.
Previously, Patna High Court had ordered investigation in 2016 by the State Department of Precautions to the recruitment of all teachers and verification of their relevant certificates and documents.
As a result, the State Finance Department took assignments to examine the certificate of nearly 3.75 lakh teachers appointed during the period in 2016 themselves in accordance with the high court order, Chaudhary said.
However, the certificate folder is only around 2.5 lakh the teacher can be available for the Department of Precautions until June last year.
The remaining folders are not sent to the Department of Precautions both by teachers or recruitment authorities concerned even though some reminders are both from the Ministry of Education and the State Citizenship Department, the minister added.
He said the department had given a last chance to the teachers to upload their certificate folders to its website more than six months ago, but almost 1.03 lakh teachers like that have not uploaded their paper.
Chaudhary said the problem would be taken to the recognition of the High Court.
Services from all such teachers can then be stopped in the direction of the court, the Minister said.
According to sources, most of these teachers are recruited at foreign considerations and do not have relevant certificates.
Even among those who have created their certificate folders are available, around 10 to 15% of teachers are reported to submit fake certificates, the source added.
