Patna: The State Health Department has formed 18,000 teams for door-to-door vaccination to ensure that each recipient gets at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in November-end.
The ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign, which began on Tuesday, will continue until November 27, except Sunday.
Two days will also be used for routine immunization along with Covid-19 vaccination.
“It will be like a pulse polio campaign.
So, the teams have been formed in such a way that there is one ANM on each team,” said the Special Secretary of the State Health Department Sanjay Kumar, who also holds allegations of the Society State Executive Director.
Apart from an ANM that will work as a vaccine, there will be one verification on each team.
Three teams like that will be led by a supervisor.
Sanjay said that every team was to cover 125 houses in a day and all 18,000 teams were almost 22.50 lakh households every day.
In accordance with the data with the department, 7 crore receivers should take the Covid-19 vaccine, but many of them live outside the country.
“Therefore, we expect more than six crore receivers.
This might stop when we reach 5.50 or 5.60 crore,” said an official.
In accordance with Cowin portal data until Wednesday afternoon, more than 5.16 crore people have taken the first dose and more than 2.13 crore their second dose.
The majority of beneficiaries that have not taken shots are pregnant women.
Even though the doctor said the vaccine was safe for them and the Government Government had provided a nod, the health department official said they would not force this group to vaccinate.
