Patna: The State Legislative Council will have a power that has expired during the Monsun session when the 19 MLC period selected from the local body is ending on Friday.
The five seats from this quota were empty after the Ritlal Election of Yadav, Dilip Rai and Manoj Yadav to the State Legislative Assembly and the death of BJP Sunil Kumar Singh and Narayan Choudhary Day.
Of the 19 members whose term of office will expire on Friday, ten comes from BJP, six of JD (U), each of the RJD and Congress and one independent.
The source said this chair might remain empty for at least one or two months to Panchayat and the local body selection was held.
There are 75 seats in the legislative council.
Overall 27 MLC was chosen by members of Vidhan Sabha, 24 by representatives from local bodies, six of each of the teachers and postgraduate elections and 12 were nominated from the Governor’s quota.
The party (JDU) whip above the house, Reena Yadav, whose term also expired, said he expected the selection of MLC in December or January, after the opinion of Panchayat.
