Patna: At least a dozen people were arrested after they attacked Hathua’s convoy SDO Rakesh Kumar and SDO Naresh Kumar at Balbhadra Patti Village under the Uchkagaon police station in Gopalganj from Panchayat Polling on Wednesday.
The election commission of the State Election reported 61.07% of voter voters in the sixth phase of Panchayat polls held at 57 blocks from 37 districts on Wednesday.
Sdpo said at least two police personnel were injured in throwing stones by the villagers.
At least one vehicle where police personnel traveled damaged, he said.
The incident occurred when they held someone who stopped the villagers from voting at a polling station in the village.
“Manjhagarh BDO complained about the voters stopped at least 200 meters before the voting station,” he said.
Sdpo said he was with the SDO arrived there with additional strength and detained the person.
“A group of villagers consisting of most women began to throw stones when we left,” he said.
Meanwhile, 12 people were arrested invaishali because of their alleged involvement in breaking five EVMs at Booth number 147 from Bakhri Barai Panchayat under the Rajapakar police station during the vote.
