Patna: The demand for liquor is literally in general in the country ‘dry’ during the ongoing Panchayat elections.
This is evident from the forbidden liquor seizures smuggled into the states from outside since the election of Pancayati was announced.
According to the numbers treated with the police headquarters to the State Election Commission (SEC), more than 3.38 crore liters of illegal alcohol was confiscated from September 1 to November 3 as part of the remote state drive launched by the police to examine the use of liquor in it election .
Data revealed that around 54.06 lakh alcohol was confiscated and 12,054 rural fluid manufacturing units were destroyed by police in various districts during the first phase of voting.
The amount of liquor seized up to 56.16 lakh lakh and 14,034 rural fluid manufacturing units were destroyed at the second stage of voting in the state.
Strangely, the amount of liquor seized rose to 57.60 latriters and more than 16,063 vends liquor was destroyed in the third polling phase.
In the fourth phase, the quantity seized touched 59.22 marks and liquor making units were dismantled in 19,410.
In the fifth phase, the seized number was recorded at 59.63 lakh while the number of manufacturing manufacturing units were destroyed reaching 20,193.
The sixth phase of Panchayat polls recorded the highest seizure of 61.81 latris liters.
Likewise, at all 22,774 the brewing unit was realized and then destroyed.
The numbers available with the SEC office suggest that an average of 25 rural liquid manufacturing units are destroyed in every Panchayat since the announcement of the election schedule.
So far, the election in 4,093 Panchayat has been held and the results are stated.
“We provide data on liquor and liquor units confiscated by SEC as part of the police action against smuggling of liquor in front of each election phase,” said a senior police officer.
Data is collected by police headquarters from the district every day.
This is in addition to actions initiated by the State Excise Ministry, Prohibition and Registration, said officers, preferring anonymity.
Country of Revenue and Reform of the Minister of the Ministry of the Ministry of RAM Kumar said there were high demand reports for liquor in the Pancrayat poll to captivate voters.
“The state of the state is serious and will begin decisive action against liquor smugglers,” he added.
