Patna: Three family members were killed after their homes collapsed due to heavy rain in Dhamua Pateli Village under the Tanyarpur police station in Samastipur District on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday.
The Tyjarpur police station Sujeet Kumar said the victims were identified as Meera Devi (55), his younger daughter Priyadarshini Kumari (23) and grandson Ayushi Kumari (5).
He said Ayushi came to Dhamua Pateli to stay with his motherhood grandmother for several days.
“Meera Surendra Choudhary’s husband is a prosperous farmer in the area,” he added.
Sho said Surendra was sleeping in a hut outside the house while the three victims were sleeping inside the house when the incident occurred.
“The three died in place.
Choudhary came to know about the incident only after he woke up on Thursday,” Sho said, adding heavy rain to occur in this area in the last 24 hours.
“The house might collapse because of rain,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Juggur Circle Officer Ajeet Kumar Jha said the process of melting Ex Gratia Rs 4 Lakh to the relatives of each deceased was arrested.
