Patna: Four people have been arrested in the former Mayor of Katathar Shivraj Paswan’s murder casing.
However, eight other accused, including BJP MLA nephew, was avoiding the arrest, Purnia Range Ig Semesh Kumar Chaudhary said on Friday.
The police interrogated the person arrested, he said.
Paswan was shot dead at Santoshi Chowk under the Katihar City Police Station around 9:30 a.m.
on Thursday.
He mayor almost about two months after being elected thrown earlier this year.
He is well connected politically and has climbed a successful ladder quickly in the past six months.
The mayor’s post has fallen empty after Petelles was elected as the State Assembly last year.
Commissioner Kota Katihar Minendra Kumar said Paswan was the Mayor until June 26 this year.
“He has a term of office nearly two months.
New elections cannot be done because of Covid-19,” he said and added: Paswan was a member of the 16 ward council for two consecutive terms.
His wife Manju Devi has represented Ward 17 for three consecutive terms.
“The motive behind the murder is unclear.
Raids were above the nabs accused of others named in FIR, IG said and added, Paswan’s supporters protested at KMC and the City Police Station last night.

Sho City Police Station Raghvendra Prasad Singh said they were arrested was the door of Paswan (32) and his brother Shubham Paswan (28) and Kumkum Devi (55) and his daughter Manaha Srivastava (28).
They are residents of Tolia drivers near Santoshi Chowk.
“The killers hid around Kumkum’s house outside the former mayor parked his bicycle just before his murder.
Paswan had left home after receiving a telephone call on Thursday night,” he said.
Singh said Brother Paswan Chotu Paswan had submitted a quarter against 12 people, including the four captured.
“Neeraj Paswan is accused of in Fir.
He is a nephew of a BJP MLA from Katihar,” Singh added.
He said four bicycles were left behind, allegedly used by murderers, two comignaade pistols, including one and a half automatic, two empty cartridges and three live cartridges recovered from the place on Friday.
“The police have also won cellphones from everyone who were arrested,” Singh said.
He said the former mayor was used to deal with real estate too.
