Patna: Five friends drowned after the car where they traveled to fall into the roadside water bodies near the village of Dala under the area of the Palalasic police station in the Arriar District on Tuesday morning.
They worked in a private hospital in Purnia.
Police Station Police Sho Shivpujan Kumar said the deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar Mandal (26), Kaland Mandal (25), Dhananjay Kumar Sah (28), Sunil Kumar Kardar (35) and Naveen Kumar was valid (35).
He said Sunil and Kaland came from Majhwara in Ward Number 13, Dhananjay to Chauri in Ward Number 3, Sunil to Mundmala and Naveen to Chikni, all in Arariah Regency.
He said Dhananjay was a car owner.
Sho said they returned from the exhibition held in Mundmala Gerari Village about Anant Chaturdashi when the crash took place around 4am.
“It seems like the car at high speed and the driver loses control over the steering wheel,” he said.
He said there were no signs of injuries seen in their bodies.
“It seems they can’t escape from the car and sink in the water.
The car has turned the turtle,” he said.
Sho said some villagers saw four wheels in water around 5am and told the police.
The body is taken from a car.
Crane used to pull the car out of the water, “he said.
Kumar said the bodies were handed over to their respective family members after postmortem.” DM and Sadu SDO also visited the hospital.
Officials do paper work for ex-gratia payments from RS4 Lakh to Kin next of each deceased, “he said.
