Patna: The State Health Department has planned to vaccinate all teachers by Teacher’s Day in September 5.
Teaching staff both government and private educational institutions will be given priority.
Healthy Department of Special Secretary of Sanjay Kumar Singh said there would be around six beneficiaries of the Lakh in the teacher category in Bihar to vaccinate.
“They include teachers from college and school,” Singh said, added that this task would not be difficult because around 80% of them were vaccinated with one dose at least.
Singh said there would be a massive campaign for teacher vaccination in September.
He said Bihar had vaccinated all health workers and front lines, which took a total of 11.25 lakh, with the first dose.
From them, almost 8.50 lakh had been given the second dose too.
In accordance with the latest updates on the Cowin Portal, a total of 24,23,924 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine managed at Bihar on Tuesday, the highest in a day in the state began in January.
Of the total beneficiaries that got a shot on Tuesday under ‘Teak Mahaabhiiyaan’, more than 20.77 lakh got the first dose and more than 3.46 lakh received their second dose.
A wise break-up shows that 15,44,856 from beneficiaries on Tuesday in the 18-44 year category, was attended by 53.62.97 in the age group of 45-60 years and 34.27.69 above 60 years.
A total of 30,78,200 vaccine doses are distributed throughout the state to make this mega successful.
